Vegan day 53: SNICE NYC~ vegetarian, West Village

I’m living up to New Yorker “dining out” status this month!

smoked tempeh wrap with avocado

Truth be told- among all the restaurants already listed, I actually go to SNICE at least once a week!
This vegetarian cafe is in the West Village. It’s casual, hip and trendy; you can come alone or with friends. They have coffee, teas, sandwiches, wraps, snacks… and internet access
They even have homemade dog biscuits! Speaking of… I want to make my own very soon! SNICE is a stop for me after yoga– it’s close to Integral Yoga and Organic Avenue: One stop shopping all around!

curried cauliflower wrap with chick peas

My first experience at SNICE was with a vegetarian “date”- they told me there that they didn’t want to date anymore lol! Really? What’s wrong with home, on the street, in a bar, on the phone or email.. lol! Why bring food into it! I can’t complain.. I have exited many a relationship in not so great ways too and without proper timing- as if there ever is a good time. It took me a minute to get over it and enjoy SNICE- now I love it! My friends love it too!

I have even brought the “meatiest” of my meat eater friends here- and it’s like they forgot the word vegan altogether! Here are a few pictures- I generally have the smoked tempeh wrap with avocado, mixed greens, cilantro and chipotle sauce! I also order the curried cauliflower wrap with chick peas, brown rice and mango chutney. Both insane!

philly-steak seitan

My meat-eater friends like all three especially the philly-steak seitan with vegan cheese, peppers and onions!

You order at the counter here and they call your name- very laid back and friendly! A majority of what they serve is vegan but it’s good to double check as you order because it is a vegetarian venue. Once again, I am that annoying vegan asking “is it vegan?” This is why vegans love vegan places- no questions to ask! WE ARE GRATEFUL though for anyplace that serves vegan fare!
