Vegan day 229: The V-SPOT cafe, Brooklyn (2)

Sometimes… it’s all about whatever it takes to get the non-vegans to experience something other than animal products

mac & cheese
There is healthy vegan food and of course unhealthy vegan food. Some vegan restaurants tend to go one way or another… some will carry both.. some go the whole “fake” route and some may cater to the more raw lifestlye. As much as I would love to tell you to eat here because it’s healthy, today.. instead, I will just say go for it.

buffalo “chicken”
It’s time to do some converting lol.

empanada
If you wanna turn someone, this may be your spot to bring the non-vegans. The V-Spot Cafe that is. I watched my friends order as if we were in the Cheesecake Factory- pure junk! lol
oops, I shouldn’t say that because I bet they could pull off a mean raw salad and they probably go so far as to label vegetarian entrees. You know what I mean anyway!
philly cheese steak
They ordered empanadas, buffalo “chicken” and mac & cheese. Really.. that mac & cheese came too close to my lips but I couldn’t do it. It took a rounding up of every cell of will power in my body to say NO and I survived it!
It was good though- my friends told me so. “They make vegan good!”
kale tostadas
Me.. personally.. “I would fall into a vegan fat hole”. Give me some vegan cheese and it will be all over lol. I would be back in cheese-aholics anonymous before the the package could even be unwrapped. Oh wait.. I wasn’t in cheese-aholics although I could have been. For me it was “pastaholics”.. as if one could even eat that without cheese!
raw nori rolls

Anyway, I did give into the other two. I had ONE bite of the fake buffalo chicken and ONE bite of the empanada. It was torturous not to continue.
portabella tacos
Let’s be real- I wrote this blog to be healthy.. a healthy vegan at that. If along the way, my non-vegan friends want to entertain the idea of being vegan with me for EVEN ONE MEAL. I WILL TAKE IT- because now it’s all about the animals. There is no turning back for me so if my friends can cut one meal a day or more from their animal diet- then I’m a happy camper.

ok- so we ate half the menu here today. Everything was super on point!
By the end of this meal or I should say experience, I had to tally the choices as healthy or non-healthy. Just for fun I guess.
vegan treats

It was all vegan- and ALL- oh so good!
We don’t even have to mention the Vegan Treats Peanut Butter Bomb! No one really expects desserts to be healthy. For the record, this is the most incredible and untouchable vegan dessert on planet earth!
I hear the gym calling my name!
