Vegan day 21: Caravan of Dreams, East Village

A caravan of dreams it was– for me! The perfect menu! It would take me a few days just to really go through the full menu: teas, juices, power juices, smoothies, live smoothies, add ons, macro food, raw food and vegan– all of it is vegan!  Is this vegan? This already was my most used line but it’s now my favorite after watching these very funny videos that I will link right now:

Shit vegans say
More shit vegans say
Even more shit vegans say

haha I laugh forever when I watch these.

Anyway, last nights dinner was off the hook!
CARAVAN OF DREAMS
Now you know the rule of the game, if I go out to dinner it count’s as 4 meals- appetizer, one entree (the size of 2) and then dessert! Since I generally have leftovers, I blog about it as I eat them the next day.

I only have dessert leftovers today. If I continue to not bring home leftovers, someone is going to have to do a “dining out” intervention. Remember I don’t really believe in eating out in restaurants- nothing is better than home cooked food– or should I say… “home prepared food!” So it was 3 times this week. Luckily, I’m not gaining weight this week- I actually lost a pound!

My friend & I ordered  the ZUCCHINI  SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS (raw item– starting to really love raw food)  and the MACRO PLATE (I always have to shoot for the healthiest grub on the menu).

I was borderline shaking when I ordered the spaghetti, being a former pastaholic and all.  It’s actually scary, my heart races… and I’m dying to ask.. “are you sure this is vegan.. and healthatarian??” But I don’t dare!
OMG- heavenly delicious!

The macro plate is a healthy staple food! In this picture you can see it’s a little but more than the basic four: protein, grain, vegetable and seaweed. Here we have seitan which was really tasty,  delicious beans, my favorite grain quinoa, cauliflower, broccoli and seaweed. Loaded with powerful energy and nutrients.

Then for dessert I order two– what was I thinking- two desserts
the carrot cake and
the raw chocolate acai pie.

As if that wasn’t enough, I had to get a live smoothie to go for later in the night- couldn’t pass up that one! I was so excited about the desserts that I ate first and took a picture second- sorry!
Caravan of Dreams is ranking pretty high on my list of vegan NYC restaurants. I will definitely go back soon! “Organic vegan cuisine!”
