Vegan day 160: Apple cider vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar

“A capful a day, keeps the doctor away”
Who said that? I don’t know if anyone really quoted it but I will! I swear by it for getting on track with a routine of balance, elimination and getting the metabolism worked up. Sure… when I lost weight it was probably a variety of things so I can’t pinpoint it to one habit but for sure this one is on the list. Whenever I feel lost in indulgence, I remember the simple habits that helped me arrive at a new level of me… a new level of health!

To start the day:
One capful of Apple Cider Vinegar in a small cup of water!

I’m didn’t make this up- folk recipes will date far back with apple cider vinegar being a cure for many different ailments. As a matter of fact, there are a few books dedicated to the topic.

In glancing over some of the benefits of apple cider vinegar, I came across some interesting weight calculations and recommended dosages:

In Folk Medicine by D.C. Jarvis, M.D., Dr. Jarvis highlights a rule of thumb devised by Dr. Lulu Hunt Peters which goes like this:
“(1) Measure you height without your shoes.
(2) Take the number of inches over 5 feet and multiply this by 5 1/2.
(3) To this number add 110. This will give you your ideal weight.”

I like this method better than similar ones where you add 100 and then 5 for each inch over 5ft. This sounds more realistic too! In this book they recommend 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with each meal. They say you would notice a difference in dress size in a couple of months due to the apple cider vinegar’s ability to help your body burn fat instead of storing it!

WOW- FORGET THE CAP- SHOTS SHOT SHOTS lol
No…. but seriously-
2 teaspoons with each meal here I come!
